She says American Girl LLC. It seems silly but for some reason this makes me sad. I bought her a week ago at AGPC. She is the only doll I have currently that does not say Pleasant Co.
On a brighter note I have really bonded with her! I can't believe how cute she is! The catalogs just don't do her justice. Plus I love all of her pioneer stuff. I was one of those little girls in the 70's who just "lived" in the Little House books, so she has really stolen my heart.

I was one of those little girls who lived through the Little House, too! I got my niece a Kirsten with thinning hair and rewigged her with a brunette wig and called her Laura. My niece loves that doll!
ETA: when my niece got her she called her "Sunny." Not what I intended but cute just the same.

Sorry to hear about your Kirsten not having Pleasant Co. on her. But...glad to hear that you are enjoying her. Count me in as another 70's girl who LOVED Little House on the Prairie. My best friend and I used to play it at recess and at my house. Fast forward to now and our daughters (who were born just 3 days apart) are loving the Little House series on DVD and the books. It is so neat to see them playing together just like we used to do.
My mom loved Laura so much that she named her only child after her...ME!
Of course, I also love my namesake just as much.
I think all the new dolls say that. My AGT26 has American Girl Llc on her too.
Kirsten is SOOO much cuter than pictures. I [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] mine, and she's a recent Mattel one too.

I am going to have a Laura Ingalls doll too, my Molly will receive her pioneer outfit soon (not AG), I hope, I have already underwear and boots for her (not AG)... I considered turning my silver-eyes Kirsten into Mary Ingalls but changed my mind!
Oh, and don't be sad that your Kirsten doesn't have the Pleasant Company on her neck, it's just a detail, the important thing is that you love her!!!
I also grew up watching and loving both the Little House on the Prairie show and books!!!
On Hallmark channel the show comes on 4 times a day so, my DD has discovered 'Little House' and loves it just as much as I used to!
We have so much fun watching it together. She wants Kirsten now too because she's from the same time. She also had a good idea to get a fixer up doll and make a Nellie Olsen. Wouldn't that be fun???? You could dress her in really cool clothes since she was a little rich girl.

I agree about the catalogue pictures not doing her justice. Kirsten's my favorite, but if I was a nine year old paging through the catalogue now, picking a doll, I don't know that I would have picked her.
Of course, my real name is one letter off from her's, so perhaps I would have.
For years I pined for Felicity, ever since my oldest dd was small. Last Christmas my hubby bought her for me. I do truly love her, she is so sweet, but now that I have Kirsten, I am just head over heels. Lissie will always be my first and special for that reason-but Kirsten is just so darn cute! She is my fav!!
